Considered as two of the best golf courses in England, we’re delighted to be taking the Top 100 Tour to Leeds to play Moortown and Alwoodley on two consecutive days in June, with accommodation and food included. A fantastic weekend with limited availability.
Moortown
Ranked no. 32 in England, Moortown has always held a richly deserved reputation as one of the country's finest Championship golf courses - famously hosting the first Ryder Cup on British soil in 1929.
Originally designed by Dr Alister MacKenzie, who also designed Augusta, Moortown is set in 175 acres of dramatically contrasting mainly level woodland and moorland. It’s one of England’s finest inland courses, that has hosted many professional and amateur tournaments with winners that include Sir Nick Faldo, Bernard Gallagher and Danny Willett to name but a few.
Alwoodley
Alwoodley was the first course McKenzie designed, and his original layout remains at the healthland course to this day. It is long established as one of Great Britain and Ireland’s top 100 courses and ranks number 16 in our list of 100.
Over 100 since being founded in 1907, Alwoodley continues to be a sought-after venue for major tournaments, hosting events for the R&A, England Golf and the Yorkshire Union on a regular basis.
In 2019, Alwoodley welcomed the Brabazon Trophy – the English Amateur Open Strokeplay Championship – for the first time.
