Top 100 Tour at Blackwell Golf Club

We kick off the 2024 schedule at Blackwell Golf Club - an 18-hole par 70 course that’s one of the finest in England - number 57 in our Top 100 list.

Founded by a small group of businessmen in 1893, Blackwell started out as a 9-hole course and quickly became recognised as a site for fine amateur golf, hosting numerous exhibition matches throughout the early years.

In 1923, the course was reopened as an 18-hole course, designed by Tom Simpson and Herbert Fowler. Simpson’s work can be mostly seen in Europe but more locally includes Liphook, while Fowler’s work can be seen in many of the Top 100 courses - Walton Heath, Beau Desert, The Berkshire and in the US Bethpage (Black) and the 18th hole of Pebble Beach.

Blackwell incorporates some of Simpson and Fowler’s best design attributes with five par 3s with well-guarded and intricate greens, and an emphasis on strategy for the player.

The club prides itself on it’s hospitality and welcoming environment, and we’re looking forward to bringing the Top 100 Tour in 2024.

The Tour is also visiting Beau Desert on Tuesday 30 April. Golfers playing both events are asked to arrange their own accommodation.
